If I have understood this correct is this "long-story-short-interpretation" right ?

- The architecture of TYPO3 (and many other CMS frameworks) resembles more like a PAC-structure rather than MVC as most people call them, because alot of the "templates" that is within the tree of files also makes "jobs" for the controller (such as requesting data or controlling which parts of data to show/hide with if/else blocks) -

I must be honest and say I have not used TYPO3 and have not had the time to glance the code or structure, but I assume it somehow works like Django with their template system (Btw, they call their framework an MTV: Model-Template-View, can this be the ultimative word we're looking for rather than PAC?)

I know PHP "MVC" frameworks that make use of Smarty as a template engine to the presentation-layer (View) and that is also quite similar to Django.

I might excuse now already if I've got this whole thing wrong, but it seems like it that I am definetily not alone since everyone is jabbing about these wonderful MVC Frameworks now coming to town with your average circus of half-baked software programmers.
